Short Description #
The BBA (Hons) Scheme in Aviation, Maritime and Supply Chain Management comprises the following awards. Students will be awarded one of the following awards upon successful completion of the graduation requirements of the discipline concerned:
BBA (Hons) in Aviation Management and Finance
This programme equips students with a well-rounded business education with specialisation in aviation management and finance, an in-depth understanding of how airports, airlines, aircraft leasing companies, government agencies, regulators, and other groups of professionals, such as financial services firms and consultants, contribute to the functioning of aviation markets; and the necessary background required to become an integral part of the aviation industry.
BBA (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics
This programme provides a well-rounded business education, along with the opportunity to specialise in international shipping and logistics management. It enables students to acquire wide knowledge of maritime transport and logistics within a general broad framework of international transport and trade.
The programme fosters strong management skills in areas including communication and presentation, leadership and teamwork, problem solving and the effective use of information technology. Graduates are equipped with the skills necessary to understand and manage maritime organisations and personnel.
BBA (Hons) in Supply Chain Management and Analytics
Supply chain management focuses on how firms optimise resources in a logistics network that delivers value to end customers. As Hong Kong is a logistics and trading centre of global importance, supply chain management is of particular relevance to many businesses and industries. With the advancement of technological innovation and business analytics, the integration of management knowledge and analytical skills becomes essential for supply chain managers to make effective decisions.
This programme provides students with a well-rounded business education that specialises in supply chain management and analytics. The curriculum aims to develop students’ skills and knowledge in business and supply chain analytics, information technology and innovation, operations and cross-functional management, international business, and transport logistics to meet the current and future needs of logistics and supply chain related industries.

BSc in International Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) [CBS]
The Copenhagen Business School (CBS) was established in 1917 by the Danish Society for the Advancement of Business Education and Research. Today, with 20,000 students and 1,500 employees, CBS is one of the largest business schools in Europe and one of the 8 Danish universities. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes within business, typically with an interdisciplinary and international focus. CBS is accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AMBA (Association of MBAs), as well as AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), thus making it one of the few schools worldwide to hold the triple-crown accreditation.
Students admitted to the programme will spend the first two years at PolyU, then final two years at CBS. Upon completion of the programme, students will be awarded two degrees in business, BBA (Hons) in Global Business and Logistics from PolyU, and BSc in International Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) from CBS.
Remarks:
- All students must complete a short work placement, either in the summer or during semester time. The Department provides assistance in finding suitable placements.
- Students will be awarded one of the following awards upon successful completion of the graduation requirements of the programme concerned:
- BBA (Hons) in Aviation Management and Finance
- BBA (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics
- BBA (Hons) in Supply Chain Management and Analytics
- BBA (Hons) in Global Business and Logistics (BBA-GBL)*
*Dual Degree with the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark
- Students are subject to further assessment criteria, i.e. student’s own choice, GPA and interview performance in selection of awards at the end of their Year One study.

Handling of “Citizenship and Social Development”:
- An attainment at “Attained” in “Citizenship and Social Development” is required for meeting the entrance requirement but NOT included in the admission score calculation.
- For HKDSE repeaters who took “Liberal Studies” in 2023/24 or before and have not taken “Citizenship and Social Development” in 2024/25 and thereafter, “Level 2” or above in “Liberal Studies” would be regarded as “Attained” in “Citizenship and Social Development” for fulfilling the general entrance requirement. However, “Liberal Studies” would not be recognized for meeting the elective requirement of the general entrance requirement in 2024/25 and thereafter. The level attainment of the subject would not be included in the admission score calculation.
Flexibilities on admission selection are available as follows:
- Individual schemes / programmes will accept one relevant Applied Learning (ApL) subject for meeting the entrance requirements. An attainment at Attained with Distinction (I) level or above / Attained with Distinction (obtained in 2017 or before) is required.
- Other Language subjects (i.e. Category C) offered in the HKDSE Examination will be accepted as elective subjects. Grade E or above is required.
- If students have taken both M1 and M2, they will only be considered as one subject and the best grade will be taken into consideration during admission selection.
- Students endorsed by schools for meeting EDB’s specified circumstances and having achieved the required grade in Chinese in one of the following examinations will be regarded as obtaining a Level 3 in HKDSE Chinese for meeting our entrance requirements:

Similar subjects are considered once and the best grade will be taken into consideration during admission selection.
- There is no compulsory subject requirement for our schemes / programmes. Preferred subjects, if applicable, are listed in the ‘Entrance Requirements & Subject Weightings’ section of individual scheme / programme entries. Satisfactory performance in preferred subjects will have a positive influence on admission selection. However, applicants who have not taken the preferred subjects will still be considered for admission but they may need to take relevant underpinning subjects after admission to PolyU.
- For admission to Scheme in Nursing, the BSc (Hons) in Nursing and BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing, students must have Level 3 or above in at least two HKDSE elective subjects from Category A. Please click here for details of the HKDSE subject categories.
- The study places offered by PolyU through JUPAS are intended primarily for admission of local school leavers. Applicants who are studying a scheme / programme or have attained qualifications at the same or above level as the schemes / programmes for which they are applying will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Please note that local and non-local applicants are considered under different admission routes with different intake quotas. Non-local applicants seeking admission on the basis of HKDSE results should submit their applications directly to PolyU. - Applicants who fall short slightly on the general entrance requirements of our schemes / programmes but meet the following criteria may be specially considered for admission:
- with one HKDSE subject result falling one level below the required level, except “Citizenship and Social Development” (or “Liberal Studies” for repeaters), but attained with a threshold flexible admission score of the scheme/programme concerned (Please click here for the threshold score); and
- have selected PolyU’s degree programmes as their Band A choices, i.e. first 3 priorities, in JUPAS
- The flexibility for special consideration for admission is extended to sports talents under the Outstanding Sportsmen Recommendation Schemes (OSRS), applicants being nominated under Multi-faceted Excellence Scholarship (MES) / School Principal’s Nominations (SPN), as well as applicants with outstanding achievements in Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions / Activities (OEA). Conditional offers with more favorable conditions will be issued to the applicants concerned.
Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
No penalty is applied to applicants with multiple attempts in HKDSE Examination. Similar subjects are considered once and the best grade will be taken into consideration during admission selection.
